4K Program

Philosophy:
Through ongoing collaboration between the Oregon School District, community partners and families, the 4K Ready for Learning program is an all-inclusive learning opportunity. The curriculum and assessments are aligned to the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, designed for children birth to first grade. The program exposes children to the inter-related developmental domains of Social and Emotional Development, Communication, Language and Early Literacy, Mathematical Thinking and Scientific Exploration, Health and Physical Development.

 
Routines:
Wash hands, Sign-in
Small groups (fine motor skills)
Morning Meeting
Free Play and Clean Up
Calendar/Weather
Star Student Sharing
Snack
Quiet books on belly
Song
Story Time
Center/Stations (includes literacy, Handwriting Without Tears program, art, math, science - varies daily)
Pack Up
Free Play or Large Group Activity (outside, weather permitting)
Closing Circle Time

Parent Involvement:
We have a variety of opportunities to assist inside as well as outside the classroom. We encourage parents to speak with our Director to learn about the volunteer options available. Please not younger children cannot come with you during volunteer times. However, we also host Family Fun Fridays once per month, attendance is optional and siblings are welcome then! Parent involvement is encouraged but is not a requirement of our program!

This process is done through the Oregon School District. Please contact Michelle Gard or Katie Hietz at 835-4000 for registration details.
 
·         4K at Little Angels class times:
8:15-11:15 (bus transportation is available)
12:15-3:15
 
These classes are Mon-Thurs with one Friday per month.
