Where Hearts are Heard
The Road Home/IHNThe Road Home serves homeless families with children in collaboration with local faith communities and organizations. This organization is committed to the empowerment and long-term success of children and families, to serving each family with dignity and respect and to achieving results in helping families improve their lives. We welcome the entire community, in all its diversity, to participate in the pursuit of safe, affordable housing for all.
PUMC is part of the Shelter Network for TRH. This wonderful initiative helps homeless families achieve stability by providing emergency housing and support services that lead to permanant housing. Several times a year, families participating in the Shelter Network stay at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oregon. PUMC volunteers assist St. John's in the shelter ministry by providing transportation, an evening meal and other support activities.
New volunteers are paired with experienced ones. If you are interested in being a part of this opportunity to “live your faith” please contact Peg Schmidt @ 835-3049 or Steve or Anne Staton @ 835-3253.
TRH is often a focus of PUMC's Monthly Mission Focus.
