About Us
People's United Methodist Church is dynamically alive with the love of God. We acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. God's love and grace fill us with joy, strength and assurance. We are active in both our church and the community, striving to meet the needs of the people. We encourage each other as we grown as Christian desciples.
 
We welcome you to join us on the journey to grow in your faith. As a faith family, we care for one another and all God's people, discover our unique gifts and talents for ministry, and do the work of christ in the world. We enjoy our time together at people's UMC, through worship, study, fellowship and service to and with others. We invite you now to come journey in faith and us! People's Church is a freindly caring community of faith. The people of this congregation feel called to be signs of Christ's presence in a growning suburban community & agents of reconciliation in our nation & world.

Our Mission: We are here to share God’s love by welcoming all to know and love Christ and serve as his representatives in the world. We do this through worship, spiritual growth, personal relationships, and community outreach.
Faith & Values: God is the creator oa all. Jesus loves us no matter what has happened to us or what we've done.

Our Methods: Are to be inviting and welcoming; build relationships; grow through prayer, worship, service, and giving; transform through missions.
 
Our History: In 1842, a Methodist Circuit Rider conducted the first religious service of any kind in the Town of Oregon at Runey's Tavern . (Now a popular local historic landmark). Homes, schools, and finally a building on Main Street, dedicated in 1862, served as places for the faithful to gather when the circuit riders came to town.
