Monthly Mission FocusEvery month, PUMC has a different mission focus for donations designated for missions. The Monthly Mission is selected by the Living Our Faith Mission team. The team looks at a variety of mission opportunities, researches the charities under consideration, and publicizes the mission for the month. Whenever possible, a service opportunity that is associated with the charity is provided.
In November, the Monthly Missions Focus was the Wisconsin chapter of Operation Homefront, an organization that provides support to military families, and to veterans who are are adjusting to re-entry into civilian life. A total of $1461.50 was collected.
In December 2011, a total of $3,120.50 was donated to the Neighbors in Need of Assistance Fund - a combination of the offering that was taken at the Christmas services, and $1,485.50 from the Monthly Mission collection.
Also in December, church members participated in the Host-a-Family initiative, buying gifts for families in need of assistance. An additional $350 of Monthly Missions giving was used to buy gifts.
The Road Home was the beneficiary of Christmas gifts given to honor Pastor Jon Claude, a total of $450.
